December 31st marks the release of the cult classic Diablo, and to celebrate, Blizzard is bringing back the "Darkness in Tristram" event in Diablo 3. We end up in a nostalgic dungeon in the Diablo 1 style with, for veterans of the series, well-known opponents.
Diablo 3 in a retro look
There are of course a whole range of rewards for certain successes, such as a banner, portrait frame and the cute little butcher as a pet.
The event runs from January 1st to January 31st, 2018, after which you have to wait another year if you missed certain rewards.
The "Finsternis in Tristram" took place for the first time for the 20th anniversary of the Diablo series last year.
Stop the cultists
Your journey begins on the trail of a group of mysterious cultists who are causing trouble in Sanctuary. As you track her down in Adventure Mode, you will find clues that lead to a portal into Tristram's past and the terrifying darkness that reached out to the village so many years ago ...
Explore the cathedral
If you follow the instructions, you will soon find yourself in a realm of splendid RetroVision ™ in which an all-too-famous cathedral awaits you. Explore the depths and encounter well-known opponents and cult objects, all brought to life in the Diablo III engine. Meanwhile, deep beneath the catacombs, the Lord of Terror awaits all those daring adventurers who dare to challenge him.
For fans and newcomers to Diablo 3, this is a nice adventure that shortens the seemingly endless waiting time for Diablo 4.
