GWENT - The Witcher Card Game - Open Beta Start

The open beta for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is scheduled to begin next week. According to the development studio CD PROJEKT RED, the open beta will begin on May 24, 2017 for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.

What is GWENT?

GWENT is the implementation of the popular card game from the The Witcher Play. Similar to Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone the player creates a deck from his card collection and then uses it to fight a match against the opponent. Unlike the well-known representatives, there are always 3 rounds and you only draw 2x cards. Whoever decides out of the 3 rounds 2 wins. So tactically it is very varied, the player must carefully consider whether he can still win this round and use more cards for it or maybe then decide the next round with the additional cards for himself. The resources at GWENT are not mana crystals or countries, but the cards in hand.

With this system, GWENT is far less random than Hearthstone, for example, some well-known Hearthstone professional players are also for exactly these reasons already switched to GWENT, as we already reported.

At the moment the closed beta has been running for a few months and CD Projekt Red is now starting the next step towards publication with the open beta.

Reset after the closed GWENT beta

The open beta will include a reset and thus offer equal opportunities for everyone. All map collections will also be deleted. Veterans who have already played in the closed beta and bought card packs here Kegs= Called barrels, will be replaced.

You will receive the following items:

For every keg bought with real money, there is a pin-sharp keg.
For every 5th player level from level 5 on there are 2 kegs
There are 2 kegs per tier
End of the season rewards
All items that were given away by CD PROJEKT RED, for example: the premium Geralt card
