H1Z1 Just Survive - From now on without H1Z1 but with fortresses

Name changes are currently very much in vogue, and Daybreak is allowed to join in H1Z1- Just Survive not missing. Some time ago, the developers H1Z1 in the two H1Z1-Just Suvive and H1Z1-King of the Hill Games split. King of the Hill became the Battle Royal variant of the survival game and offered quickly accessible action without surivial elements such as zombies or building houses.

Just Survive - survival and building houses in the Apokaypse

H1Z1 - Just Survive however, offered the full package of apocalypse and zombies and left the player worried for his survival. There was also the opportunity to build a shelter and so improve his chances. Together with the name change to "Just Survive", Daybreak brings some new features and calls the game to mind. Even if it seems a bit strange that the game mode that still offers zombies, with H1Z1 loses the reference to the zombie virus.

Due to the immense popularity of the Battle Royal mode, Just Survive fell into the background and was neglected. Thanks to the new "Strongholds", that is, fortresses with which you can protect yourself against zombies, there is of course more potential for conflict with other survivors. Because safe places are hotly contested in the world of Just Survive.

Survive on the new map

One of the biggest innovations is definitely the new card. Which replaces the old area, which has already been explored in every last corner. The uninviting name Badwater Canyon is much larger, however, and initially only part of it will be accessible, the Pinemill Reservoir. Over time, more regions will be added.

While the old map was mostly littered with hundreds of tiny bases in which everyone eked their hermit existence, Badwater Canyon offers specific spots for the new giant strongholds. The building sites for these are limited and must be purchased from an NPC in the military base for in-game currency. Of course, the best spots near interesting structures are particularly popular and will be competitive.

Just Survive Stronghold

The attackers only have a limited time window to conquer the Stronghold. If they fail, troops from the military base appear with poison gas canisters and put an end to the attack. In the event of such a failure, the Stronghold is safe from further attacks, even for a certain time.

In this way, the developers ensure that the owners do not log into a complete ruin after a few hours of sleep / work.

Possible quests in the future

The existence of a military base with NPC traders also gives rise to the idea of orders and stories. Creative Director Ben Jones said in an interview that this is definitely a plan for the future. It is important for the PvE feel to have such features and to support them accordingly, even if the game is so PvP focused.

Just Survive is available for € 19.99 on Steam and is still in Early Access. The game is subject to constant changes and accordingly the players encounter bugs etc. more often.
