Since the announcement of Heroes of the Storm 2.0, developer Blizzard has collected some feedback and is now changing the loot boxes for veterans.

With Update 2.0, the previous level and reward system will be completely revised. There is no longer a maximum level, but the level is then calculated from the sum of the hero levels. For each newly reached level, there are loot chests which, depending on the quality, contain rare items. The contents of the chests consist of cosmetic items, mounts and even complete heroes are folded up and squeezed into the small boxes.

Heroes of the Storm 2.0 - Veteran Chests

The first plan was that everyone who played at least one game should get 5 common loot chests. In addition, for every 10 player levels reached, an ordinary loot chest up to a maximum of 35. For every 25 player levels a rare loot chest (maximum 20) and for 100 player levels an epic loot chest (maximum 10).

These rewards have now been changed and improved. As a reward for every 10 player levels, there will be an epic loot chest, with a maximum of 55. In addition, the Blizzard team will lead Veterans chests which you get for every 100 player levels up to a maximum of 10.

The new Veteran Chests contain 5 coins instead of 4, and each chest has at least one legendary item.

So if you find that you only need a little XP to reach the next 10 or 100 threshold, you should maybe play a few extra matches. It is worth it!

Likewise, every player who reached level 40 before Patch 2.0 will be rewarded with a 30-day voice pack. With the 100 % experience points bonus you can then level up faster and earn more chests.

Patch 2.0 for Heroes of the Storm can be tried out on the test server at the moment. The release on the live server is planned for the end of April.
