During the gamesome opening ceremony of Blizzard's booth, the new Overwatch map Junkertown was announced with a rather funny trailer. While the cartoon about Junkrat and Roadhog creates a good mood, a second video shows the first details of the map itself.
Junkertown - Overwatch with Mad Max Tribute
Junkertown is located in one of the most inhospitable areas in the world, the Australian outback. Even without the apocalypse and machine enemies, this is an area where only the toughest survive. Accordingly, there is a gang of gangsters in Junkertown, led by their cutthroat queen. The "city" was built in the remains of a destroyed ommnium. If the residents are not busy looting and collecting junk, they react to the junkyard. The junkyard is a massive arena in which the fighters, much like gladiators, fight against each other for fame, fortune and their survival.
Mel Gibson and Tina Turner are nowhere to be seen, but somehow you get the urge to do them Beyond the Thunderdome Pick out DVD. Technically, the new Overwatch map is an escort mission. In this you have to accompany a load safely to the target point as usual in order to score.

We will hopefully find out when the new Overwatch map will be released during gamescom. A new short animation film for Overwatch is definitely announced for Thursday.
