For the 7th time already Overwatch Players start the leaderboard season and earn fame and rewards.
Participating is very easy, click on play, select a leaderboard match and the time has come. Whether you participate alone or as a team does not matter and Overwatch will assign you to a match with opponents of equal value.
In order to be able to classify your skills accordingly, the first 10 matches are the Placement matches, based on which your level of play is determined between 1 and 5000.
The higher the better and according to your rating you will be assigned a rank.
Bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, master and grandmaster, look familiar from other games such as Starcraft 2 and also work similarly
You can of course also move up / down, depending on your strength, the opponents, your team and the win / loss ratio. Defeating easy opponents brings you less progress than defeating stronger ones.
Overwatch leaderboard rewards
In addition to the thrill of victory, players can look forward to a number of unique rewards that they can unlock through ranked matches. Whoever completes the ten placement matches during a season receives a special spray and a player icon as a reward. If you made it into the top 500 players on your platform (and your region) at the end of the season, you will also receive a special player icon and an animated spray.
You will also earn a currency called Ranking Points by completing Ranked Matches. At the end of the season there are also a certain number of points based on your overall performance. With it you can then unlock golden versions of the weapons of your favorite heroes.
