Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - E3 Gameplay Video

Pillars of Eternity 2

In the course of the E3, the Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Obsidian developers gave a detailed insight into the gameplay. For over 10 minutes they demonstrate the improvements over part 1.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

Pillars of Eternity 2 is a typical example of turn-based old-school role-playing games such as Baldur's Gate or the younger Divinity: Original Sin. Just like Part 1, Pillars of Eternity was about the Crowdfunding campaign Fig funded and the support of the fans was overwhelming, within a very short time the goal was achieved and more than 4.4 million US dollars were raised.

As is typical of the genre, we steer our party diagonally above through the huge world or dark dungeons. If there is a fight, we can pause at any time and calmly give each of our party members the individual commands. Alternatively, we play in real time and the characters follow predefined patterns.

In Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire we visit the world of Eora again and control the same main character. According to the developers, some of our popular buddies from Part 1 will also be there again. But even those who start as a newcomer get the background explained and are slowly introduced to the rich history of Eora.

The video shows pre-alpha footage, i.e. scenes of the game before it is even available in a beta version, but is already pretty detailed in terms of graphics and effects. In contrast to part 1, almost all features of the graphics engine have been revised and improved.
