Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - Funding Successful

Pillars of Eternity 2 - Deadfire

The new role-playing game from Obsidian continues to set further highlights with its crowdfunding campaign on the “Fig.co” platform. 4.4 million dollars are now in the box office and the campaign has ended successfully. This makes Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire one of the most successful projects financed by Fig.

As the successor to the popular role-playing game Pillars of Eternity, which was highly praised by gamers and critics for its story, Pillars of Eternity 2 had already achieved the first goals for funding (at $ 1.1 million) and additional content at a rapid pace.

Many stretch goals over $ 1.1 million were unlocked. Including different localizations, additional voice output, higher maximum level, more companions with relationship stories, ship upgrades and a hiring and management system for your ship's crew.

So the enthusiasm is great and anyone who has failed to do so can still support Obsidian on their homepage as a “slacker backer” - as a latecomer.

The expectations of the fans are of course gigantic and Obsidian will have to put in a lot of work to meet them. At least they now have enough money for a lot of coffee and night shifts.

Crowdfunding projects had disappointed some fans in the past, but Obsidian's good reputation gives hope for the best. Her latest title, Tyranny, has been very positively rated on Steam and sheds light on the question: what happens if evil wins?

A release date for Pillars of Eternity 2 has not yet been announced. The game will be released on Windows, Linux and IOS. No console version is planned yet.
