PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS Charity Event - 2M Sold Games and Charity Tournament Info

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS

The record reports for PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS are never ending, the day before the big charity tournament, the game hits 2 million copies sold.

Less than 6 weeks have passed since the Early Access release on Steam. Since then, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS has consistently been a top seller in the sales charts and is only topped in terms of player numbers by much older titles such as Dota2 or CS: GO.

On the streaming platform Twitch, the Battle Royal game reaches 50,000 to over 100,000 viewers every day.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS Charity Event on May 4th

The developers have planned a big charity tournament for May 4th. 128 well-known streamers from North America and Europe will compete in teams of two. This means that there are 32 teams per region, which will play their matches separately by region to compensate for latency and lag.

In each case 3 matches are played and the team that could achieve the best placement in the addition is crowned the winner. Similar charity events held by Playerunknown in the past in its Arma2 and Arma3 Battle Royal Mods have raised over 70,000 $ for the good cause.

The development studio Bluehole Studio has announced as a special bonus to double any donation made during the stream. Up to a value of 100,000 $, each donation is topped up by the same amount.

For the 128 participants, Playerunknown announced a small extra reward today via Twitter. The player with the most kills wins an NVIDIAGeForce GTX1080ti.

The complete list of participants has now also arrived, including some very well-known names from the scene, here the EU participants:

If you want to watch the spectacle or donate something to a good cause, you will find it Live broadcast on the official Twitch Channel of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS. The European matches will take place on May 4th between 19:00 and 22:00. The American battles then start between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Central European Summer Time.
