Prey - 35 minute gameplay video released

Prey

Developer Bethesda today gave a detailed insight into the gameplay of the upcoming first-person shooter Prey.
In the 35 minute video, the possibilities of the game engine, the graphics and the atmospheric music are impressively demonstrated. A scenic helicopter flight by the protagonist Dr. Morgan Yu forms the prelude and demonstrates the graphic strengths of the game.

Prey - the backstory

Prey plays in an alternate timeline in which US President John F. Kennedy survived the 1963 assassination attempt in Dallas. As a result, Kennedy was able to advance the space program more strongly in the following years.
As a result of increased space travel activities, the earth is found by a collective of different races of aliens. This collective, called Typhon, launches an attack on Earth, forcing the US and the USSR into an alliance in defense of humanity.

The joint efforts lead to the establishment of the Talos 1 space station, in orbit around the Earth's moon. Talos 1 was intended to serve as a prison for members of the collective and has been rebuilt over time by various government agencies, resulting in a diverse architectural style.

After the fall of the USSR, the United States took over Talos 1 completely and set up laboratories to study the individual typhon life forms. Due to a fatal incident, the station is closed and only acquired and reopened years later by the TranStar Corporation. Thanks to massive advances in neuroscience, the typhon can be used. This gives scientists the opportunity to develop neuromods and use them to change the brain structure. These modifications lead to superhuman abilities and TranStar comes to undreamt-of success and influence through the sale of the Neuromods.

The first 35 minutes of Prey as a video

The video shows the first experiments in which the player participates and which serve as a tutorial. After a failed experiment, you wake up the same morning. Déjà-vu! Only this time you will find warning emails, as well as a technician corpse directly outside the apartment. With his tool you can break the panes and with it the illusion and find out that everything was just an illusory world in a Talos laboratory.
The video that you can find at the beginning of the article shows you how to proceed afterwards, have fun!

Prey will be released in May 2017 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
