The Evil Within 2 - the prehistory
In the first part, Castellanos had to solve the mass murder in a clinic. There he and his partners encounter a supernatural, evil power. When Castellanos loses consciousness after the appearance of the mysterious Ruvik, he wakes up in a bizarre, surreal version of the city.
This is full of mutated people and the player has to fight for his life. Through diary entries, articles and newspapers, Sebastion gradually learns that his wife was also on the trail of the evil forces and that his daughter has died. During their search, the police repeatedly come across Ruvik, who can seem to influence this nightmare world. Over time, the player finds out that an illegal experiment was taking place in the clinic. In this experiment, the brains of everyone involved were connected via STEM technology. This brought everyone into the horror version of our world.
Towards the end, Sebastian has to defeat Ruvik in his horror world and then regains consciousness in the clinic. His wife and daughter, whom he also saw connected to the STEM machine before, remain gone.
Part 2 continues the story and again we slip into the role of Sebastian Castellanos and try to save his daughter. Here is the description of the developers:
