World of Warcraft - Hotfix for flying

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has responded to errors in patch 7.2 with a hotfix.

In addition to many small improvements, one change in the scout Success.

The boy scout success enables the long-awaited flying in the regions of the latest expansion legion. Just like in Warlords of Draenor, flying was first deactivated in Legion and now has to be unlocked by achieving success.

  • The achievement "Defender of the Broken Isles" is no longer a requirement for "Pathfinder of the Broken Isles, Part Two".

This change is also explained in detail. Since the Legion's attacks can be active at different times within a week, it would be almost impossible for many players to achieve success. Legion attacks are always limited in time because the entire zone is "blocked" during an attack. Thus, due to working hours and a lack of free time, it is sometimes difficult to catch the attacks necessary for success. This is not a problem in normal game play, but when it comes to an important element like flight ability, the development team wants all players to have realistic chances.

The rest of the success remains:

  • Broken Isles Boy Scouts, Part One
  • Explore the Broken Shore
  • Legionfall Commander

On their site, Blizzard has compiled more detailed information.

You can find the detailed patch notes from the hotfix below.

  • The achievement "Defender of the Broken Isles" is no longer a requirement for "Pathfinder of the Broken Isles, Part Two".

Developer Comment: The Legion's attacks will be active at different times over the course of a week to allow players with different working hours and free time to enjoy this content. A legion attack cannot take too long.

During such an attack, all world quests in a zone are thrown over the heap, which under certain circumstances can mean that players have nothing more to do in this area after a completed attack. This type of design doesn't go well with an important achievement that requires repelling attacks in all four zones. Instead, it just creates stress when players try to adjust their schedule so as not to miss any area.

The achievement "Defender of the Broken Isles" was never intended to be a major obstacle and shouldn't prevent you from flying in the Broken Isles. Rather, it was added from a thematic point of view and for the sake of completeness. For this reason, it is no longer a prerequisite for the achievement "Pathfinder of the Broken Isles, Part Two", with which you unlock the flight.
