The strategy hit X-Com 2 gets an extension. At E3, the developers announced X-Com 2: War of the Chosen. The expansion will offer a variety of new content.
New factions and hero classes for X-Com 2
In the fight for the survival of the earth 3 new factions have formed and rise against the aliens and ADVENT. In response, ADVENT sends its “chosen ones” to capture the commander again and thus take the leader away from the resistance.
The chosen ones are mankind's strongest opponents to date, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the chosen ones go a step further than the previous opponents in order to fulfill their task. They kidnap XCOM soldiers and interrogate them to gain new clues about the Commander. You will even be able to sabotage XCOM at the strategic level. The Fortresses of the Chosen should be your primary target in eliminating the threat.
As a counterweight to the new strong opponents, there are the 3 new factions. The reapers, skirmishers and templars are on your side. In addition, the expansion also brings you new hero classes.
The 3 factions have unique abilities, but are not necessarily well disposed towards each other. Only one can save the world and play the messiah.
The DLC will also offer new areas and environments for the missions. Among other things, cities destroyed by biological weapons, underground tunnels or wilderness altered by aliens.
New ways to improve your troops ensure immense replayability. Furthermore, compatible comrades could form special connections. The missions are adapted by the game to your troops and should always be challenging.
X-Com 2: War of the Chosen will be released on August 29, 2017. The base game X-Com 2 is required to play and the expansion will appear for all platforms on which the base game is also available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.
