With 2017 the December season is also in Hearthstone came to an end. The January ranking season began on January 1st, 2018 under the motto Exultant frost fire stands.

All players get the card back at least Rank 20 achieved. It doesn't matter whether you achieve this in the standard format or in the wild format.
The better your rank in one of the two leaderboards, the more rewards await you in the chest at the end of the season. In addition to the card back for rank 20, there is then still the chance to Golden cards and dust.

Below is a brief overview of how the rewards get better with increasing rank:
- Rank 20 - 1 gold common card, 5 dust
- Rank 19 - 1 gold common card, 10 dust
- Rank 18 - 1 gold common card, 15 dust
- Rank 17 - 1 gold common card, 20 dust
- Rank 16 - 1 gold common card, 25 dust
- Rank 15 - 1 golden common card, 1 golden rare card, 5 dust
- Rank 14 - 1 gold common card, 1 gold rare card, 10 dust
- Rank 13 - 1 gold common card, 1 gold rare card, 15 dust
- Rank 12 - 1 gold common card, 1 gold rare card, 20 dust
- Rank 11 - 1 gold common card, 1 gold rare card, 25 dust
- Rank 10 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold rare card, 5 dust
- Rank 9 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold rare card, 10 dust
- Rank 8 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold rare card, 15 dust
- Rank 7 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold rare card, 20 dust
- Rank 6 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold rare card, 25 dust
- Rank 5 - 2 gold ordinary cards, 1 gold epic card, 5 dust
- Rank 4 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold epic card, 10 dust
- Rank 3 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold epic card, 15 dust
- Rank 2 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold epic card, 20 dust
- Rank 1 - 2 gold common cards, 1 gold epic card, 25 dust
- Legend - 3 gold ordinary cards, 1 gold epic card, no dust
A higher rank also gives you bonus stars for the next season. For each rank reached you will get a bonus star in the next season, so that you don't have to start again at 0, or in this case rank 25.
